La Jolla

This 15-acre City-owned property was originally subdivided for housing. In 1998, however, the City Council voted to designate the property as open space. Since then, volunteers have planted hundreds of oak trees on-site, restoring the property to a coast live oak woodland. The property is visible on the east side of the Thousand Oaks (23) Freeway, just north of the Ventura (101) Freeway.
